Description

1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle #253 PSA Fair 1.5 (MC). Mickey Mantle was the top draw for the New York Yankees during the 1950s and '60s. An incredible switch-hitter, he crushed more home runs than any Bronx Bomber during that time period and wound up with 536 round-trippers overall. His path to first-ballot induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame included three AL MVP awards (1956, '57 and '62), one AL Triple Crown ('56) and leading the Yankees to 12 AL pennants and seven World Series crowns.

Presented is Mickey's sought-after 1951 Bowman rookie card. Featuring a classic hand-painted design, this card captures Mantle in his youth (age 19) at the outset of his phenomenal career. As this represents his very first appearance in a major card set, the '51 Bowman #253 is incredibly coveted by collectors around the globe. The card, which is qualified as a miscut by PSA, shows him striking a batter's pose during Spring Training, marking the very beginning of his 18-year tenure in pinstripes. Graded PSA Fair 1.5 (MC).
