Description

1948 Menko JCM48 Babe Ruth/Michinori Tsubouchi (#46280, Headshot, Baseball Back) PSA Good 2 (MC). George Herman Ruth was more than just an ambassador to baseball, he was a social icon who's popularity crossed cultural boundaries. Ruth died of throat cancer in August of 1948. His memory was immortalized by both U.S. and Japanese card makers. This is the first time that we have been able to determine this Babe Ruth Menko card is being offered at public auction. The card is from 1948 from the "JCM48" series with "Michinori Tsubouchi" on the reverse. The baseball legend is depicted in cartoon form, cherub face and all, swinging the instrument of his trade. A scarce entry in any collection and a must have for the Ruth specialist. Graded PSA Good 2 (MC).
