Description

1915 E106 American Caramel Christy Mathewson SGC EX-NM 6 - None Higher. Despite having been a hero to baseball fans for well over a decade by 1915, the American Caramel Company still managed to misspell "Big Six's" name on this card. (It's "Mathewson," not "Matthewson.") He was starting to wind down his career, with only sixteen victories ahead of him. However, he was still very popular and he still remains one of the best-loved players of his time. Offered is the prime example of this card, graded SGC EX-NM 6. It has been graded as such primarily due to corner wear, as the rest of the card is extremely fine. The psychedelic sky, in gold and blue, sparkles and the turf is a magnificent green. Matty looks like he just threw one of his patented "Fadeaway" pitches to Honus Wagner. A truly fantastic card. A population of twenty-one, with none higher.
