1980 Mike Eruzione Opening Ceremonies Worn USA Olympic Team Cowboy Hat. Good guys wear white hats, so it was only fitting that the underdog U.S. Hockey team, along with the rest of the American Olympians, made their grand entrance at the Opening Ceremonies wearing hats like these. This was Eruzione's personal model, a pale tan suede ten gallon hat crafted by Levi Strauss & Co with "Lake Placid February 13-24, 1980" and "1980 USA Olympic Team" embossed in gold at the interior leather headband. The "Miracle" team would get a second chance to wear these hats as they visited President Carter at the White House following the Games. Minor soiling does nothing to distract from the bold aesthetics. Letter of provenance from Mike Eruzione.*A donation of $100 to the American Red Cross is required to attend the Live auction.
