Description

The Babe celebrates one hundred years of baseball!

1939 Babe Ruth Quadruple Signed Baseball Centennial Postage Stamp Block PSA/DNA NM-MT 8. The legendary cast of the 1939 Hall of Fame inaugural class signed a fair number of postage stamps at the event--likely at the request of Postmaster General and baseball fanatic James Farley, who attended the Cooperstown ribbon-cutting and was likely responsible for the creation of these popular stamps honoring the centennial of our national pastime. But it's rare to find uncut blocks such as this, each stamp autographed in 9/10 blue fountain pen ink by the biggest star of them all. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, NM-MT 8.
