1996 Roberto Alomar Gold Glove Award. A likely candidate for Baseball Hall of Fame induction if not for some unfortunate incidents during his stellar playing career, Alomar should be considered a strong investment candidate for those baseball purists believing it should all be about the numbers. And Alomar's were outstanding, winning four Silver Sluggers along with a ten Gold Gloves (leading all second basemen), one of which is presented here.The instantly recognizable Award presented by leading glove manufacturer "Rawlings" was the Baltimore Oriole's sixth, earned for a season in which he posted a stellar .985 fielding percentage while registering 279 put outs and 445 assists. His smiling face appears on the central base supporting the eponymous Gold Glove, framed by a pair of golden baseballs. The plaque on the base is engraved "1996 Rawlings Gold Glove Award, Presented to Roberto Alomar, Honoring His Selection As The Finest in the Field!"
