Description

Moose's three-run blast in Game Seven cements the victory!

1958 New York Yankees World Championship Ring Presented to First Baseman Bill "Moose" Skowron. The 1950's was a halcyon era in America, with World War II in the past, a booming post-war economy, and a bright future ahead. More than any other sports franchise, the New York Yankees defined America at the time. The epitome of perennial excellence and dominance, The Bronx Bombers played in eight World Series during the decade, winning six.

The 1958 edition of the Fall Classic was an edge-of-your-seat classic, tied at two entering the eighth inning of Game Seven, but a four-run frame for the Yanks, punctuated by a three-run shot off the bat of Skowron, proved fatal to the Braves' dream of back-to-back Championships.

On offer here is the ultimate baseball award from sport's greatest team and America's fondest decade. "New York Yankees World Champions" travels the perimeter of the top face of this refined fourteen karat (14k) gold artifact in raised lettering, surrounding a genuine thirty-five-point diamond inside of a baseball diamond, while each shank provides the classic hat and bat team logo and the year "1958." The interior band is engraved "Bill Skowron." Size nine and a quarter (9.25). Weight twenty-four grams (24 g.).

Yankee World Series rings come at a premium, especially those from the 1950's and star players. One of the select few examples ever offered for public sale, this ring belonged to eight-time All-Star Bill "Moose" Skowron who was a starter on the 1958 World Series championship team. It comes with its original leather and suede Balfour presentational box with top hat logo and "Championship Award" embossed in gold on the lid. Original purchase LOA.
