One of the most famous group shots in Major League history!

Circa 1930 Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx & Babe Ruth Original Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. It's the Mount Rushmore of Depression-age sluggers, a trio that altered the course of baseball both at home and across the Pacific, where they headlined the 1934 Tour of Japan. Together they would supply 1,741 baseballs to fans in the outfield bleachers of Major League parks and reinvigorate a game damaged by swelling corruption in the closing years of the Dead Ball Era. The Bronx Bombers abandoned the "Yankees" text across the chests of their road jerseys after sporting that format between 1927 and 1930, so we can confidently date the subject image to some time between 1931 and 1934 as the tide of American League supremacy was shifting back to the Big Apple as the Mack Men's last great dynasty faltered.

The legendary Yankee tandem of Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth flank Jimmie Foxx as a few early fans take their seats at Shibe Park in Philadelphia. With Ruth leading the American League with 49 home runs in 1930, tying Gehrig with 46 in 1931, Foxx leading with 58 in 1932 and 48 in 1933 and Gehrig's Triple Crown of 1934 providing 49 homers, we can be sure that this image pictures the season's home run champion.

The photo measures 8.5x6.5" and is crystal-clear showing every detail in the image. It reveals a small quantity of short creases that are just around the border areas and only when held at the proper angle to the light. When viewed head-on, the appearance convincingly mimics NRMT.
