A Midsummer Classic's dream lot...

1933-2017 Major League Baseball All-Star Game Ticket Stub Complete Run (88)--Number Three on PSA Set Registry.
It was eighty-five years ago that the tradition was born, the top stars of both Major Leagues gathered for the first time on a single playing field at Comiskey Park, where Babe Ruth fittingly christened the event with the very first Midsummer Classic home run on July 6, 1933. The American League would claim victory in that inaugural edition, going on to win eleven of the next fifteen. But then the pendulum of dominance would swing mightily, with the National League winning all but ten of the next forty-three contests. And then, once again, the Junior Circuit caught fire, claiming victory in twenty-two of the thirty games to come.

Remarkably, as this text is written just days before the eighty-ninth edition of the Major League All-Star Game, the historical record stands dead even: National League 43 - American League 43, with two tie scores. The 2018 All-Star Game will be held in our nation's capital, which knows a thing or two about lengthy battles to a stalemate. Certainly it will be a piece of cake to pick up a ticket for that game to keep the set going, and for every future engagement as well.
