1905 Philadelphia Athletics Postcard (Spectators In Background) SGC Good+ 2.5 from The Rube Waddell Collection. This is the second variant of this 1905 postcard featuring the legendary Connie Mack and his Philadelphia Athletics who had just won their second AL pennant under his tutelage. Here we present a scarce postcard featuring a team photo of the 1905 squad which remains a top collectible for its exceptional image and lack of any significant condition issues. Officially titled - Philadelphia American League Base Ball Team ("ATHLETICS"). each player is identified across the bottom with standouts including Rube Waddell, Chief bender and Eddie Plank. This version pictures the team in front the stadium stands which are packed with spectators. Graded SGC Good+ 2.5. From a total potential pop of just nineteen cards submitted to SGC, this is the only card graded Good+ with six rated higher.Guide Value or Estimate: $800 - up.
