Description

Circa 1915 Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner "Fan Favorites" Notebooks (2). From the John Esch collection. Two of the top baseball stars of the first two decades of the last century were certainly Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner. With an incredible twenty batting titles between them, they gave opposing pitchers fits at the plate and on the basepaths. They were featured on all sorts of merchandise and memorabilia, including these outstanding school notebooks. Both of them have all of their paper intact and each have the exact same, single pencil notation on their first page, indicating they probably came from the same original owner. The only obvious damage would be minor foxing and discoloration to both, as well as some very slight damage to the corner tips, while the Wagner features a small section (1") of paper damage to one corner. Despite this, these two, who were forever linked because of their exploits in the 1909 World Series, are the lucky subjects of these two amazing and beautiful survivors. Notebooks measure 6.75"x 8.25."
