1973 The Bill Slocum Memorial Award Presented to Al Kaline from The Al Kaline Collection. Since 1930, the Baseball Writers Association of America have awarded the prestigious William J. Slocum Award to recognize those judged to have given long and meritorious service to baseball. The exemplar offered here was presented "To Al Kaline For His contribution To Baseball Over A Long Period." Silver metal inscription plate sits atop a black wood base.
