Description

1981 Al Kaline Spring Training Used Outfielder's Glove from The Al Kaline Collection, PSA/DNA Authentic. Worn by the newly minted Hall of Famer during Spring Training in Lakeland, Florida during the 1980's, when his work with young Tigers played an important role in the team winning the 1984 World Series. Read the letters written to Kaline by Tiger manager Sparky Anderson and GM James Campbell, both of which appear in this auction, for additional details.

The Wilson model 1612 fielder's glove dates from the 1981 period and displays moderate wear throughout. Most importantly is Kaline's identifying "6," which appears in vintage black marker at the base of the web at the back of the glove. Letter of provenance from Mark Kaline. LOA from PSA/DNA, Authentic (Cert #G00753). LOA from Heritage Auctions.
