Description
1909-11 T206 Christy Mathewson (Dark Cap) - Unique Printers Scrap. Although not in the greatest state of preservation, offered is a very possibly unique example of a 1909-11 T206 of Christy Mathewson's "Dark Cap" pose. Our one-of-kind printer's scrap is skinned and missing physical portions but is also missing most colors. Seen are the base dark gray which gives us his name plate, line illustration and portrait key line. Also seen are areas of yellow, and hints of red at his lips, ears and the shadow under his glove. Collecting T206 cards with printing errors or at various stages of completion has been a long time pursuit and they make fascination additions to any T206 collection as they are one-of-a-kind additions.Auction Info
