Description

1955 Jackie Robinson Steals Home in World Series Oversized Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. It's one of the greatest photographs in post-war baseball history, Jackie Robinson's daring steal of home in the first game of the 1955 World Series. Robinson would be called safe, but legend has it that every time Berra would walk past a photo of the play at his museum in Montclair, New Jersey he would mutter, "You're out." This photo appears to validate his claim. We've never seen a period example printed to such impressive dimensions (10x12"). Editorial markings appear within the image, but they are quite light and cause little distraction. The edited image as used in the newspaper is affixed to the back with ancient tape, having run in The Daily Mirror. Photo is otherwise EX-MT. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
