Description

1996 Cal Ripken Jr. Game Used & Signed All-Star Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10 with Ripken Signed Letter. Many believe Cal Ripken Jr. saved baseball during its darkest hours. Following the 1994 player's strike, the sport had an uphill battle as the World Series was canceled and fans were in an upheaval. Originally sourced from Ripken's personal collection, this model P72 (35" and 33.3 ounces) was used in the 1996 All-Star Game. A strip of athletic tape has the following written near the barrel end: "Game Bat All Star Game 96 Philad." There are a few ball marks on the back barrel from when The Iron Man connected. John Taube classifies the use on the uncracked stick as "excellent." Ripken flawlessly signed the barrel and added " 1996 All Star Game" in silver paint pen. One of the finest Ripken Jr. bats from his collection. Letter of provenance from Cal Ripken Jr. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
