1951 Bowman Willie Mays #305 PSA VG+ 3.5. Willie Mays, the celebrated "Say Hey Kid," was a perennial All-Star center fielder for the New York Giants who belted 660 home runs during his Hall of Fame career. A great fielder and base stealer, Mays earned 12 Gold Glove awards and stole 339 bases to demonstrate his versatility out on the diamond. He was named NL MVP in both 1954 and '65, and led the Giants to the 1954 World Series crown. His election to the Baseball Hall of Fame as a first-ballot inductee took place in 1979.Offered is Willie's much-coveted 1951 Bowman rookie card. Card #305 from the historic '51 Bowman set shows Mays gripping his preferred weapon of choice, ready to swing at the next incoming pitch during batting practice. The presented example exhibits good color and solid registration. This would make a nice addition to anyone's Mays or Giants rookie card collection. Graded PSA VG+ 3.5.
