Description
1910 E103 Williams Caramel Mordecai Brown SGC Poor 1. The elegant portraits of photographer Carl Horner grace numerous card releases of this era. The "E103" series produced by Williams Caramel (their only baseball series) which fully utilizes Horner portraits on all thirty cards, is among the most obscure and condition sensitive. They are famous (or infamous) for their distinctly cheap paper stock and those deep red backgrounds. Our offered card features Chicago Cubs HoFer Mordecai Brown. A crease is found in the lower left, some staining and edge chipping as well and there is evidence of surface loss in areas on the reverse. His portrait is remarkably bold and minimally affected by condition detriments. Graded SGC Poor 1. There are four graded POOR with eleven rated higher from a total pop of just nineteen. Just over 40% of the almost 550 cards graded by SGC have been rated Poor or Authentic.Auction Info
