Description

1932 U.S. Caramel Rogers Hornsby #11 SGC 84 NM 7 - Only Two Higher. Issued just prior to the magic year for gum cards - 1933 - the R328 issue or the 1932 U.S. Caramel series is really the last of the great caramel sets bringing close to a genre that dates back to the early 20th Century. These cards are particularly tough, in part because they could be redeemed by young collectors for baseballs and fielder's gloves upon completion of a set. "Tough" doesn't begin to describe them in high grade. Offered is HoFer Rogers Hornsby. His portrait is slightly off center, but with barely a hint of corner wear. Graded SGC 84 NM 7. One of only twenty-five total graded by SGC and this is the third best example.
