Description

1961 Green Bay Packers NFL Championship Ring Presented to Scout. Important relic recalls the first trip to the NFL mountain top for Titletown under legendary coach Vince Lombardi, whose name now adorns the sport's most coveted trophy. This particular ring was issued to team scout Bill Young. The Packers would humiliate the New York Giants in a frigid NFL Championship game on New Year's Eve, posting a thirty-seven to zero shutout of Lombardi's former team.

Original diamond was replaced with a smaller faux diamond, with "1961 Green Bay Packers World Champs" standing in raised text at the edges. Left shank reports the blowout Championship game result over "NFL" text. Right shank features a figural ball carrier and the original recipient's surname. Interior band is stamped "Josten 14K" and measures to size nine (9). Medium wear exhibited throughout. Letter of provenance from family of Bill Young (Packers scout).
