1888 N28 Allen & Ginter "The World's Champions" Near Set (43/50) Plus N29 O'Connor. From the John Esch Collection. This series is for most their introduction to 19th Century sports tobacco cards. The N28 set features ten baseball players, ten pugilists plus thirty more champions of their craft. Our offered gallery contains 43 cards/cut outs. Three have been graded by SGC. As a bonus there is one card from the second N29 set of the same name. Includes: John Clarkson/album (glued to thin card stock), Wild Bill Cody (SGC VG 3), Tim Keefe/album (glued to thin card stock), Joe Mulvey/album, Annie Oakley (SGC Poor 1), O'Connor/N29 (VG/EX), John L. Sullivan (SGC Fair 1.5). Grades 50% VG to VG/EX, 50% lesser with three paper (album) cut outs. Lesser cards due to ink, stamps, surface loss, edge wear, etc., etc.). Total 44 cards.Auction Info
