Description
2001 AFC Divisional Playoff Game Oakland Raiders vs. New England Patriots Ticket Stub - Tuck Rule Game, PSA Good 2. The Tuck Rule Game refers to the controversial AFC Divisional Playoff game between the New England Patriots and the Oakland Raiders on January 19, 2002, played in heavy snow at Foxboro Stadium. Late in the fourth quarter, with the Patriots trailing, quarterback Tom Brady dropped back to pass and was hit by Raiders cornerback Charles Woodson, causing a fumble that Oakland recovered-seemingly sealing the game. However, officials reviewed the play and cited the obscure "Tuck Rule," which stated that if a quarterback's arm was moving forward in a passing motion, even if he attempted to tuck the ball back in, it was still considered an incomplete pass rather than a fumble. The ruling reversed the turnover, allowing the Patriots to retain possession.
Adam Vinatieri then kicked a game-tying 45-yard field goal in the snow and later the game-winner in overtime. The Patriots went on to win Super Bowl XXXVI, launching the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick dynasty, while the Tuck Rule itself remained one of the most controversial and debated calls in NFL history before being abolished in 2013.
Offered is a ticket stub the legendary game. Graded PSA Good 2.
