Description
2010s Jim Leyland Game Worn Detroit Tigers Jacket. Jim Leyland's career with the Detroit Tigers was marked by leadership, consistency, and a return to prominence for the franchise. He managed the Tigers from 2006 to 2013, leading them to four postseason appearances, three American League Central titles, and two American League pennants (2006 and 2012).Leyland took over a struggling team in 2006 and immediately turned them into contenders, guiding the Tigers to their first World Series appearance since 1984, though they fell to the St. Louis Cardinals. Known for his fiery personality, strategic mind, and strong rapport with players, Leyland helped develop stars like Justin Verlander, Miguel Cabrera, and Max Scherzer. The Tigers made another deep postseason run in 2012, sweeping the Yankees in the ALCS before losing to the San Francisco Giants in the World Series.
Leyland retired after the 2013 season with a record of 700-597 in Detroit. His time with the Tigers is remembered as one of the franchise's most successful modern eras, and he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2024.
Offered is a Majestic size-M Detroit Tigers jacket worn by the HOF skipper in the 2010s. Light wear. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
