1993 Texas Rangers vs. Chicago White Sox Ticket Stub - Nolan Ryan vs. Robin Ventura Fight PSA NM 7 - Pop One, Two Higher! On August 4, 1993, one of baseball's most memorable brawls unfolded between Nolan Ryan of the Texas Rangers and Robin Ventura of the Chicago White Sox. In the third inning, after being hit by a pitch, the 26-year-old Ventura charged the mound against the 46-year-old Ryan.As Ventura closed in, Ryan immediately locked him in a headlock and delivered several punches before teammates and umpires intervened. The clash became iconic not just for the dramatic scene itself, but for the contrast in age and stature-an aging Hall of Famer showing toughness against a much younger player. The fight cemented Ryan's reputation as one of the game's fiercest competitors and remains one of the defining highlights of his storied career.
