The Bucky Dent Game refers to the 1978 American League East tiebreaker between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. In the seventh inning, light-hitting shortstop Bucky Dent stunned the crowd by hitting a three-run home run over the Green Monster, giving the Yankees a lead they would not relinquish. The homer became one of the most famous moments in Yankees-Red Sox history, symbolizing the rivalry's intensity and Boston's heartbreak. New York went on to win the game 5-4, capture the AL pennant, and eventually claim the World Series.
