Earl Averill Single Signed Baseball. Earl Averill, known as "The Earl of Snohomish," was a Hall of Fame center fielder who played the majority of his career with the Cleveland Indians in the 1930s. Averill was known for his powerful hitting, accumulating a .318 career batting average with 238 home runs and 1,164 RBIs over his 13-year career. A six-time All-Star, Averill was the first player to hit a home run in an All-Star Game, and his consistent offensive production made him one of the most feared hitters of his era. His contributions to the game were recognized with his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1975, solidifying his legacy as one of the great outfielders in baseball history.
