Description

1934 Tour of Japan Flyer with Facsimile Signatures. Oversized (10.5" x 15") image of the U.S. and Japanese baseball teams from the 1934 Tour of Japan. The undisputed king of the tour was Babe Ruth. The New York Yankees may have been done with the thirty-nine-year old slugger, but the Japanese couldn't get enough. A crowd estimated at anywhere between one hundred thousand and one million lined the streets to welcome the U.S. team in Tokyo. Ruth did not disappoint, connecting on fourteen home runs in leading his team to a record of 16-0. Facsimile signatures of the American players and their Japanese counterparts are present. Expected wear including toning and an edge tear on the bottom left.
