1895 James Corbett vs. Robert Fitzsimmons $40 Full Ticket. A particularly fine example of a ticket that remains on the want list of many a serious early boxing collector. Don't be fooled by the fact that two examples appear within this auction--these are very rare, and this is clearly the superior specimen. Like the other ticket in this auction, a small amount of official writing and stamping appear on the obverse (none on verso), with typical edge and corner wear the only other condition issues of note. You'll encounter few 19th century boxing tickets bearing more noteworthy names, so it must have greatly disappointed the original owner of this ticket when the bout was cancelled.
