Description

1960 Bobby Jones Signed Book to George Halas. One of the great sportsmen of the twentieth century, Jones once dismissed plaudits rendered to him for taking a penalty stroke for an infraction during the US Open which nobody else had witnessed with the statement, "You may as well praise a man for not robbing a bank." Here we find a bold and spacious autograph from the author of Golf is My Game on the book's opening page, rating an unimprovable 10/10 in black ink. He signs, "For George Halas, with best wishes, Bob Jones," gifting this volume to a fellow early sports icon, a name synonymous with Chicago Bears football. The volume remains in marvelous condition, with its rare dust jacket in place though bearing an occasional crease and bolstered by a small tape repair. The inscription is unaffected by any condition concerns. An essential autograph from one of the Golden Age of Sport's key figures to another. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
