Description
1909-11 Colgan's Chips Ty Cobb SGC NM 84. Issued over a three-year period by the Colgan Gum Co. of Louisville, Kentucky, this issue brought the greatest stars of the Dead Ball era to gum chewers nationwide. Only Shoeless Joe books higher than our Georgia Peach offering, and just two representations have ever graded higher than this Cobb in the SGC population. Just the mildest touches of edge wear lower this "card" from the absolute heights of the hobby, though it surely goes without saying that very few ninety-year old issues fall under a Near Mint heading.
