This white Rawlings football has 23 signatures: W.A. Alexander, Bobby Dodd, Claude Bond (trainer), Mike Benton, Jack Faulkner, Martin Wakifield, Bill Chambers, Phil Tinsley, Roland Phillips, Buster Beall, Charlie Furchgott, Ed Scharfschwerat, Walt Kilzer, Eddie Prokop, Bob Gaston, John ?????, Charlie Hoover, Mickey Logan, Mick Cummings, Larry Mills, Jas. H. ?????, Bill ?????, and Frank Broyles. Accompanied by a copy of a newspaper article from the New Orleans States dated February 1, 1944 that states, Jane Withers "auctioned [the ball] off for $5,000,000 in bonds at the recent president's birthday ball in her home town of Atlanta, Ga."
