1985 Southern California PGA Hall Of Fame Plaque Presented to Ellsworth Vines. In a rather stunning turn of events, tennis great Ellsworth Vines turned his second love of golf into a career, declaring his professional status in 1942. His finest finish on the PGA Tour was reaching the semi-finals of the 1951 PGA Championship played at storied Oakmont. In recognition of Vines' contribution to golf in California, he was inducted into the Southern California Golf Hall of Fame on January 30, 1985. Presented here is his induction plaque. In fine condition, it measures 9x12." Letter of provenance from Ellsworth Vines III.
