1971 Joe Torre Game Worn St. Louis Cardinals Jersey. Joe Torre's baseball career came full circle when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014. A man who has spent his entire adult life in baseball, Torre starred for the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1970's before finishing up with the Mets. Torre sported this "Rawlings [size] 44" jersey in 1971. The Cardinals transitioned to knit jerseys in 1971, the same year Torre donned the offered pullover. The blue/white/red ribbed circular neckline and labeling of the Rawlings tag link this jersey to '71. Heavy use is shown with consistent puckering on both sets of numbers. Remnants of the NOB are still visible. In '72 the Cards used a different Rawlings label. Two tags appear inside: size and washing instructions. Torre signed the front in 10/10 blue felt tip.
