Description

Mid 1970's Fort Worth Texans Game Worn Jersey - Most Likely Recycled from New York Islanders Jersey. One of two Fort Worth Texans jerseys in our October Signature Auction, this blue Durene example was worn during the mid-1970's, and was possibly put to use by star defensemen Neil Nicholson, as the two-color tackle twill No. 20 on back suggests.

Most likely recycled from a New York Islanders sweater, it shows evidence of the NHL team's crest being removed from the front, which was common during this time period (Heritage hockey expert Bill Campbell believes this jersey was originally used by an Islanders player during the 1973-74 season). Jersey has the proper "Rawlings [size] 48" tag in the collar, and it displays a nice scattering of puck and stick marks, as well as several team repairs throughout.

One of the only blue Durene Fort Worth Texans jerseys in the hobby, this is one of those rare examples that possesses the rare combination of scarcity and extreme eye appeal. LOA from Joe Tomon.
