Description

Early 1970's Bob Lilly Game Worn Jersey. The vision of Hall of Famer Bob Lilly chasing down Bob Griese, for an NFL-record 29-yard sack in Super Bowl VI, will surely be flowing through collectors' minds as they take a look at this noteworthy catalog listing. Not only was the Tulane Stadium crowd fortunate to see that famous play, but the fans also got to witness Lilly and Dallas' widely-feared "Doomsday Defense," during that Championship contest. One of the most dominant defensive linemen ever, Lilly used this jersey, which was worn during the early 1970's. A solid representation worn by the Cowboys' first ever draft pick, this white heavy-duty cotton shirt features Lilly's classic "74" on the sleeves, front and verso. "LILLY" is sewn on a rear nameplate in royal blue tackle twill with the correct wider-than-norm spacing. The lower tail area sports the traditional "Southland Athletic" label, which is the silver version that represents the early 1970's and sports a "[size] 52" flap tag. Medium use is exhibited, with team repairs on this solid and unique late-career representation of the NFL's 75th Anniversary Team member. LOA from Lou Lampson.
