Description

Circa 1930's Mush March Service Team Game Worn Sweater and Later Skates. Mush March's son, Harold told Heritage that his father owned a Standard Oil service station in Chicago, which would explain the this catalog listing. This unique jersey was used to play in a commercial men's hockey league sponsored by Mush's service station. To help stay in shape, March and a lot of his hockey friends would play in the non-contact men's league for enjoyment and exercise. This jersey has a "Great Athletic Western Goods Co." tag stitched in the rear interior tail, with gray felt "'Mush' Service March" affixed to the front and "Mush" in the same fabric on verso. Also included in this collection is a pair of "CCM" Tackaberry skates from the 1960s, used by March. These chocolate brown, size seven-and-a-half leather skates show nice use, and also come straight from the Mush March collection. LOA from Harold March.
