Description

1881 Alexander Cartwright Signed Document. In 1953, the United States Congress officially recognized Alexander Cartwright as the inventor of the modern game of baseball, and while that attribution remains a point of debate among baseball historians, there is no doubting the appeal of any document touched by his hand. This specimen derives from his adopted Hawaiian homeland, and appears to relate to some form of real estate transaction. The gorgeously hand scripted document is penned on both sides of a lined legal-size page, signed on the second with the most attractive autograph in the Baseball Hall of Fame with 9+/10 strength. The seal of a notary public appears on the attached page below. For the true baseball historian, a Cartwright is an essential cornerstone in any solid collecting foundation. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
