Description

1997-98 Manny Mota Game Worn & Signed Los Angeles Dodgers Jersey from The Raul Mondesi Collection. It was said that Manny Mota could get wood on a bullet. A superb contact hitter with a .304 lifetime average over twenty seasons, Mota was an All-Star and two-time World Series champion who became the all-time leader in pinch hits in 1979 and retired as a player at age forty-four. Mota was also a coach for the Dodgers for thirty-four consecutive seasons (1980-2013), the longest such run in team history.

Here is Mota's Dodgers coach's jersey. Road gray knit sports blue, white and red tackle twill identifiers, a patch for their fortieth anniversary in Los Angeles and Russell Athletic labeling confirming size and season. The jersey was first worn in 1997. After the season, the Jackie Robinson patch was removed and the fortieth anniversary patch was added for use in the 1998 season. Exhibits appropriate game wear. Also, the jersey exhibits some holes/discoloration from when it was displayed in a frame.

Additionally, the front is inscribed and signed "Dara Mondi, El leon de los multicon afectos. Manny Mota" in 9/10 blue sharpie and the back is inscribed and signed "Para Raul, Con afecto. Manny Mota" in 96/10 black sharpie. Letter of provenance from Raul Mondesi. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
