1964 Frank Lewis Archive from Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) vs. Sonny Liston Fight with Press Pass, Fight Chart, Expense Reports and Promotional Material. We have seen all types of material from the 1964 Cassius Clay and Sonny Liston fight which changed the boxing world forever. Fight tickets, programs, on-site posters and even the gloves Clay wore have found their way to the auction block. But this archive provides an intriguing deep dive into the process that brought that historic bout to fruition.Frank Lewis was the treasurer of Dundee-Macdonald Enterprises. This archive offers tidbits from the fight. The forecast of estimated net realized sheet is worth special mention. Figures are written by Lewis on the ledger sheet. Clay was guaranteed $225,000 according to the treasure's figures. The comments section features this interesting revelation: "It appears the only one getting any real money from the venture would be the government." A second spreadsheet (16.25x10.25") breaks down all of the other expenses of the prized fight: public relations, ushers, press, undercard, printing, clerical, telephone, stationery, legal and professional counsel, postage, advertising, program cost and boxing commission. Another spreadsheet has a color-coded chart which breaks down the ticket structure and prices. Also included is a press pass from the Clay-Liston fight. "F. Lewis" is written and pencil notations appear. A stain appears on the lower half. Patterson vs. Liston and Louis vs. Conn ticket sheets are also offered. Each has moderate surface/fold wear and punch holes applied. Numerous newspaper clippings complete the compilation.
