1981 Muhammad Ali Deer Lake Worn Training Trunks for Trevor Berbick Fight from The Troy Kinunen Collection - Photo Matched to 11/17! Photo matched items which Muhammad Ali wore during his legendary amateur and professional boxing career are extremely rare and highly coveted by collectors which makes this offering so special. Here we present a pair of Ali's training worn trunks which are conclusively photo matched to a November 17, 1981 practice session leading up to his final professional bout.While the "Drama in Bahama" turned out to be a depressingly one-sided affair, as a far-past-his-prime Ali was dominated by a fighter he would have handled easily in his prime, the bout was important in that it was the final chapter of one of the accomplished and consequential careers in the history of sport.
A letter from leading boxing collectibles expert Craig Hamilton explains that these white and black satin "MacGregor" brand trunks entered the hobby through assistant trainer Wali Muhammad.
