Very Rare 1949 Exhibits "Sports Champions" Complete Set in Two Uncut Sheets. Offered is a 32-card complete set of "Sports Champions" Exhibit cards from 1949. This second and last of the "Sports Champions" theme are by far the scarce of the pair with complete sets almost never being offered at auction. It is almost unheard of to present a set in the form a two 16-card uncut sheets! This set is identifiable by the distinct blue printing and unique subjects. The key new names are golfer Ben Hogan, Joe Fulks (basketball), Marion Motley (football), Citation (horse racing), Bob Waterfield (football), Roy Conacher (hockey), Glenn Dobbs (football) and others. Both approx. 14" x 22" sheets have creasing that affects all of the card in the top and bottom rows plus a few others. Each is taped to the thin matt frame. These are not the thin paper variety that were used for the machine displays. these are vintage card stock.Auction Info
