Description

1954 Montreal Royals Team Signed Baseball with Roberto Clemente. The team that readied Jackie Robinson for his dangerous 1947 Major League debut likewise funneled the first Puerto Rican superstar to the Bigs, and this Official International League (Shaughnessy) ball documents Roberto Clemente's last minor league stop prior to his 1955 rookie season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. It's interesting that we find a classic "Roberto Clemente" autograph here, as the Hall of Fame outfielder would go by "Bob" in his earliest seasons south of the Canadian border. His autograph presents with 9/10 boldness beneath a vintage coating of shellac, joined by twenty-three teammates including Joe Black, Rocky Nelson, Gino Cimoli and Dixie Howell. One panel exhibits some wear which has affected those signatures, but only Howell is affected of the listed names above. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
