Description

1900-05 Napoleon Lajoie Professional Model Bat, PSA/DNA Authentic. This member of Cooperstown's second induction class remains one of Cleveland's most beloved baseball figures, so popular in his day that the ballclub was nicknamed the "Naps" in his honor, only taking on its subsequent "Indians" designation upon his departure in 1915. This remarkable pre-model Hillerich & Bradsby (34" and 39.7 ounces) dates from 1900-05 when he was at his absolute best.

Uncracked, the offered lumber shows "outstanding use" according to John Taube's analysis with ball marks and stitch impressions on the left and back barrel, although that use cannot be attributed to Lajoie himself. Cleat marks also decorate all angles of the barrel.
