Description

1912 Stockholm Summer Olympics Bronze Third-Place Medal. Only 270 bronze medals were struck for third-place finishers at the Stockholm Games, and here we present an attractive example thereof, a creation of Swedish artisans Edgar Bertram MacKennal and Erik Lindberg. Obverse finds a victorious athlete being crowned with laurel wreath by two females, while verso holds a herald proclaiming Olympic Games and a bust of Ling, founder of Swedish gymnastics. Measures 33 mm. in diameter and weighs 19 g. Fine condition.
