Description

1967 Mickey Stanley Game Worn & Signed Detroit Tigers Jersey, SCDA 9.

UPDATE: This lot is accompanied by an LOA from MEARS, A9.

If there was any chance of tracking down a fly ball, Mickey Stanley was usually there to corral it. The four-time Gold Glove winner patrolled center field for the Tigers and was a part of the 1968 World Series championship squad. A year before the team claimed the title, Stanley wore this "MacGregor size 44" jersey while on the road for the Tigers. The right sleeve has 3.75" block numbers which was a relatively new concept at the time.

All of the identifiers are original and show proper washing/sun fading from extensive use. The collar holds a manufacturer's tag while the inner tail has "MacGregor Set 1 1967" and washing instructions labels. The washing instructions label is nearly undecipherable given the amount of launderings endured. An SCDA hologram is just below the two tags. Stanley signed the bottom in bold black felt tip. LOA from SCDA, 9. LOA from MEARS, A9. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
