Description

1997 Roger Clemens Game Worn Signed Toronto Blue Jays Jersey - Cy Young Winning Season.
Dan Duquette will forever be haunted by his quote about Roger Clemens being "in the twilight of his career" in 1996. The Rocket Man proved he had plenty left in the reserves as he enjoyed quite the "twilight" years. Clemens began proving Duquette wrong in 1997 when he went north of the border and won a Cy Young award in his first season in Toronto. The righty was his brilliant self as he registered twenty-one wins, 292 strikeouts and worked 264 innings.
This "Wilson size 48" jersey was worn by Clemens when he delighted fans at Skydome. Each of the identifiers is in split-line font which was unique to the team and shows consistent use. The right sleeve contains a Jackie Robinson Breaking Barriers patch worn exclusively by MLB teams in 1997 while the opposite end features a team patch. A Wilson size tag is joined by a "97" year swatch in the collar. Clemens signed the front and personalized his autograph. Jays jerseys were very difficult to find during this time period. Grab an eventual Hall of Famer with this listing. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
