Description

1940's Walter Johnson Single Signed Baseball, PSA/DNA EX-MT+ 6.5. In 1917, a Connecticut arms laboratory recorded Johnson's fastball at 134 feet per second, equal to ninety-nine miles per hour, a speed the lanky farmboy was somehow able to generate with a smooth sidearmed motion that baffled and terrified opposing batters. New York Highlanders outfielder Birdie Cree provided his own methodology for handling Johnson's speed: "When you see the arm start forward, swing."

Presented is a scarce single from the inaugural class Hall of Famer, on the sweet spot of a Athletic League Reach baseball. Johnson carefully constructed his autograph (7/10) on the coveted spot of the slightly toned ball. PSA/DNA graded the ball 6 with an overall grade of 6.5. A stunning single honoring The Big Train. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, EX-MT 6.5.
