Description

1956 Topps Sandy Koufax (White Back) #79 PSA NM-MT 8. Hall of Fame southpaw Sandy Koufax was a crafty pitcher who notched 165 victories during his 12-year career with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers. A three-time Cy Young Award winner with four no-hitters to his name, Koufax was forced to retire at the age of 30 due to chronic elbow pain in his left arm that was likely the result of a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He bowed out following the 1966 season with four World Series rings (1955, '59, '63 and '65) and the admiration of countless fans. Offered is a 1956 Topps card, Koufax's second-year issue, that provides a pair of looks at Sandy. This white-back example of card #79 is found with robust color, solid centering, four strong corners and a flawless reverse. Graded PSA NM-MT 8.
