1965 Topps Steve Carlton - Cardinals Rookies #477 PSA Mint 9. Steve Carlton put genuine fear into the hearts of many hitters of his era. You could almost watch as the blood flushed from their faces when "Lefty" as they called him zipped past another blazing fastball or slider. His talents showed themselves early as Carlton posted winning seasons starting in 1967 and was an integral part of the Cardinals success that led them to the World Series in 1967 and 1968. One of the games greatest left-handers made his rookie card debut in 1965 being paired with pitcher Fritz Ackley.
