1909-11 Colgan's Chips Honus Wagner "Square Proof" SGC VG+ 3.5 - The Only Graded Example By Either SGC or PSA. Colgan's Gum and the American Caramel Co. took notice of what tobacco giants were doing to boost sales and added baseball cards to their product packages. Colgan's "Stars of the Diamond" was a large effort that featured both major and minor league players. Naturally, the Flying Dutchman is the top name next to Cobb. Offered is what is being called a "Square proofs" but were likely made pre-production for some other purpose. Regardless, they are vintage and rarely found. Graded SGC VG+ 3.5. A very scarce entry in any condition and one of his more unique cards to showcase his iconic portrait - yes, "that" portrait. The only example graded by SGC.Auction Info
